EU Isn’t Falling for Canada’s Latest Ruse

Canada’s barbaric seal slaughter continues its downward spiral – and it appears to be taking Canada’s integrity with it.

Last week, the European Union (EU) rejected an attempt by the native Canadian Inuit to challenge the EU’s ban on seal products.  Interestingly, the Inuit live far away from the area where the mass commercial slaughter takes place and are responsible for only about 3 percent of Canada’s annual seal kill. In addition, the EU already exempts Inuit seal products from the ban.

‘Club Kids’ Slam Canada’s Seal Slaughter at Canada Day Festivities

Wearing loud costumes and holding signs that have graphic photos from Canada’s annual baby-seal slaughter and that read, “Canada’s Club Scene Sucks”, PETA “ravers” crashed the festivities at the biggest Canada Day celebration held outside Canada’s borders at Trafalgar Square today. Their point? Clubbing and shooting baby seals to death is nothing to celebrate.

Canada’s Worst Seal Slaughter

Usually, when we put the words “Canada” and “seal” in the same sentence, it’s bad news. But not this time. Canadian officials are reporting that this year’s seal slaughter saw one of the lowest numbers of seals killed in recorded history. The 2011 commercial slaughter claimed the lives of 38,000 harp seals, which, while still awful, is less than 10 percent of the 400,000-seal maximum.

Will Giant Seal Ice Sculpture Melt Hearts?

Hoping to melt the cold hearts of the pro–seal-slaughter Canadian government, today we unveiled a 2-metre-tall seal ice sculpture outside the London headquarters of the Canadian High Commission. The seal statue directed onlookers to our new website, StopTheSealSlaughter.com, where they can watch (and share) video footage of the slaughter and sign Canadian native Pamela Anderson’s petition to stop the massacre.

Mystery of Dead Seals in Scotland, but What About Canada’s Massacre?

The bodies of dozens of seals have been found washed up on the coasts of Scotland. All the bodies had horrific lacerations, leaving people to question how the animals died. Giant ‘Seal’ Wants to Speak With Canadian PM Stephen Harper

Anyone walking past the Canadian Embassy in London last week could not have failed to notice a giant “seal” standing outside the main entrance holding a sign that read, “Harper: Stop the Seal Slaughter”, in protest of Canada’s annual seal massacre.

The protest was timed to coincide with Canadian Prime Minister Stephen Harper’s visit to London to meet with newly appointed British Prime Minister David Cameron.
