Pink Calls Huntsman Prince William ‘A Bit Rude’

There’s not much our Pink won’t do for animals. The outspoken singer and long-time PETA pal has hit out at Prince William for his failure to reply to her letter about his animal-killing hobbies. Pink has dubbed the Royal “a bit rude” after five years (five years?!) of waiting on a response from him, and you can hardly blame her. The pop-rock princess said, “I’m still waiting for a reply to my letter to Prince William. He wanted me to play at a concert for his 21st birthday, but I wrote back saying I wouldn’t until he explained why he went hunting. It’s a bit rude, isn’t it?”

Prince William isn’t the only person whose Royal feathers Pink has ruffled either. Her letter to his grandmother, Queen Elizabeth II, has also gone unanswered. She added, “I also wrote to the Queen… asking why bearskins couldn’t be made of synthetic material… I don’t get that we can’t question people just because of their position in society. I support PETA; I want to make people think about their responsibilities. I don’t care if they have a crown.”

Don’tcha just love her? But when will fans see the lovely lady back on tour again? Not until another contentious animal rights issue is cleared up by the looks of it. “Before I hit the road I’d like horse-drawn carriages banned from Times Square in New York. “It’s hard to alter things that have been going on for so long and that make a lot of money but it’s very important.” The battle goes on. Make sure you also check out her video on the cruel practice of mulesing, where lambs in the Australian wool industry are mutilated in an attempt to prevent flystrike.

PETA Bear Greets The Queen

Just round the corner from the PETA office today the Queen was met by the lovely PETA bear (aka our campaigner Nico dressed in a bear suit). Her Maj was all smiles as she spotted the bear waving to her from across the road but sadly didn’t stop for a chat and a cuddle. I sneaked a bear hug in though, see below.

The PETA bear has literally travelled the world to greet the Royals at various public conventions, but I have to say with a certain gush, this was the first time I’d seen her in real life (she’s the lady in grey in case you didn’t figure it). We grabbed this opportunity because of the immense cruelty involved in the production of Her Majesty’s Guards’ caps which are made from real bearskin.

You can find out more about the campaign at UnbearableCruelty.co.uk and send a letter direct to the Ministry of Defence here.
