Swedish siren and former Playboy model Victoria Silvstedt was horrified when she heard that more than 300 dogs may be shipped from her home country to UK laboratories for cruel animal tests.
Upon learning about pharmaceutical giant AstraZeneca’s plans to consign hundreds of beagles from their breeding facility in Örkelljunga to the torture of animal testing, Victoria immediately fired off a letter to the company’s board imploring its members to show the dogs mercy. She wrote:

A giant “goose” led a protest against Fortnum & Mason at the store’s street party celebration marking The Queen’s Diamond Jubilee today. PETA members – making goose sounds and holding signs – added to the festivities. They were pointing out that despite being provided with evidence that ducks and geese used in foie gras production are grotesquely abused, Fortnum & Mason refuses to stop selling the product.

Body-painted to resemble “bloodied, skinned” people, three models representing PETA converged outside the opening of the “Hermès Leather Forever” exhibition at the Royal Academy of the Arts today. They held signs reading, “Hermès, Bag Cruelty: Ditch Leather”, while other PETA members handed out leaflets to passers-by and people attending the event.
