Prestigious Council Endorses Call for End to Animal Tests

Great news from our friends over at PETA India, in their recent campaign for a cosmetics animal testing ban. The Indian Council for Medical Research has agreed with the suggestions put forth by PETA India and promised to endorse them in future.

PETA India penned a letter to Health Minister Anbumani Ramadoss urging him to ‘ban cruel and archaic tests’ of cosmetics on animals. In the letter, they said that they want to draw his attention ‘to the pain and distress suffered by countless animals used to test cosmetics’.

Read the letter in full..

‘We have written to the ministry drawing their attention towards the pain and distress suffered by countless animals used to test cosmetics and also suggested the superior methods of testing the cosmetics by using them,’ Dharmesh Solanki, senior vivisection campaign coordinator stated. To see top level support from such bodies is always fantastic news – so watch this space yo!
