We’ve just received some great news from clothing chain M&Co! After being contacted by PETA and one of our brilliant supporters regarding a coat with real fur trim, the store immediately took action. Not only did M&Co move swiftly to remove the coat, they also cut all ties with fashion label Cutie, which was selling the coat as a concessionary item in their stores, saying they “no longer have confidence in Cutie’s quality control procedures.” We applaud M&Co for staking such a swift and compassionate stance on the sale of fur.… Read more.

Since 1996, the Canadian government has poured millions of dollars a year into subsidising the commercial seal slaughter and marketing the fur and flesh of baby harp seals. But all that money isn’t doing any good – the seal industry continues to collapse.
Since the European Union banned the import of seal products in 2010, Canada has fought with it, the World Trade Organization and anyone else it could think of to have the ban overturned – so far without any luck. Canada tried to go … Read more.

They sit next to you on the train, they walk past you at the supermarket and they might even work in your office – so when you see someone wearing fur, it’s good to be prepared. It’s hard to believe, I know, but many people who wear fur still have absolutely no idea what happens to animals who are killed for their skins. Or perhaps they think that if the jacket is “vintage“, somehow that makes it alright – and they need you to let them know it isn’t! With … Read more.
What do you give a beautiful and charming New York socialite for her birthday? Fur coats, of course. At her birthday luncheon today, Cornelia Guest and her well-wishers donated dozens of their own coats – made from foxes, chinchillas, rabbits, minks and other animals – to PETA US’ fur-coat giveaway program for the homeless.
PETA US Vice President Dan Mathews was on hand to collect the furs and said, “Fur used to be a uniform in high society, but that’s all changing, and nobody illustrates that better than Cornelia”.
