We’ve just brought our campaign against fur to the country that buys more of it than any other in the world – Russia.
With well-known TV presenter (and vegan) Olga Shelest as the face of the campaign and a series of hard-hitting ads appearing on Moscow’s streets, people in Russia will soon have no excuse for overlooking the appalling cruelty that lies behind their animal-skin garments.
Olga admits that when she was younger, she owned a fur coat – before she learned the gruesome facts about where it came from. “When … Read more.
The fur industry is one of the most barbaric and bloody on the planet, causing millions of animals untold suffering every single year. So it warms our hearts to see former fur-wearers donating their coats to us to be put to good use – in this case, as bedding to comfort injured and orphaned animals.
The Fox Project in Kent takes in and nurtures hundreds of red foxes who have been injured or orphaned because of hunting, traffic accidents and “pest” control. PETA UK has sent this wildlife hospital some fur coats … Read more.
Joanna Krupa, who was voted Sexiest Model in the World by magazines in the US and Australia, is stripping down for animals in her brand-new PETA ad, in which she points out the absurdity of wearing fur and fur trim by wearing “a bit” of it herself!
“I wanted to do this campaign to keep talking to people about how bad fur is. Stop! Fur is not sexy. It’s not cool”, Krupa says in her PETA US interview. “You’re walking down the street wearing fur—you really look like an idiot!”

Sometimes, just one person can make a huge difference for animals. While PETA and its affiliates around the world work to improve the lives of animals with high-profile campaigns, we know that small actions can also be very effective.
Many of our supporters achieve success through their own small actions, such as encouraging school cafeterias to offer more vegan options or working with a council to make a community safer for wildlife. And we love hearing their stories.
So we were very excited to find out how a Dutch supporter managed to … Read more.

We’ve just received some great news from clothing chain M&Co! After being contacted by PETA and one of our brilliant supporters regarding a coat with real fur trim, the store immediately took action.
