“As an actor who will always consider Britain home, I was proud to learn that the European Union has banned seal-fur imports. In light of next week’s seal-products dispute hearing, I’m writing to urge the panel to uphold this ban, which is in line with the wishes of compassionate people all around the world, including the majority of European citizens.”

Sometimes, just one person can make a huge difference for animals. While PETA and its affiliates around the world work to improve the lives of animals with high-profile campaigns, we know that small actions can also be very effective.
Wearing bear masks, dressed in black and holding signs that read, “MoD: Go Fur-Free”, hundreds of compassionate members of the public marched through central London to urge the Ministry of Defence (MoD) to replace The Queen’s Guards’ bearskin caps with cruelty-free faux fur. The route began at Westminster Bridge and finished at Marble Arch, for a grand total of 5 kilometres, taking participants past iconic sights such as the Houses of Parliament, Trafalgar Square and Piccadilly Circus.
