It’s been a great summer for England’s cricket fans, with the team currently the ICC Twenty20 champion, the holders of the Ashes and the top-ranked test side in the world. But birds also have something to celebrate because the world-famous home of English cricket, Lord’s Cricket Ground in London, has removed foie gras from its menu!

After viewing PETA’s foie gras exposé narrated by Kate Winslet, which shows how ducks and geese are abused by being repeatedly force-fed in order to produce this… Read more.

Advantage Ducks and Geese – Foie Gras Is Out at Wimbledon

For those tennis fans among you, we’ve got some ace news to share! After being contacted by PETA, the All England Lawn Tennis and Croquet Club (AELTC) has confirmed that foie gras is out this year and will not be appearing on official event menus.

Birds used for foie gras know only pain and suffering from birth until death. Confined for their entire existence to tiny, filthy cages and pens, these natural water birds are lucky if they so much as glimpse a large body of water, let alone have the chance… Read more.

Don’t Pop Into Fortnum & Mason for Ricky Gervais’ 50th Birthday Gift

ricky_gervaisIf you’re wondering what to buy Ricky Gervais for his upcoming 50th birthday on 25 June, you’d better steer clear of anything from Fortnum & Mason! The comedian set aside his well-honed sense of humour to pen a deadly serious letter on PETA’s behalf to F&M head Beverley Aspinall calling the department store out for its sale of cruelly produced foie gras.

Gervais isn’t the only public figure to team up with PETA to speak out against Fortnum & Mason’s continued sale of foie gras. Other supporters of PETA’s campaign include campaign… Read more.

Owain Yeoman Thinks Fortnum & Mason are Mental for Selling Foie Gras

Surrounded by “crime scene” hazard tape and chalk body outlines of dead geese, Welsh-born star Owain Yeoman, who plays Special Agent Wayne Rigsby in the hit Channel 5 television programme The Mentalist, led a protest against Fortnum & Mason’s continued sale of foie gras. Brandishing a sign that read, “F&M: Investigate Compassion – Ban Foie Gras”, Yeoman called for Fortnum & Mason to follow the lead of Harvey Nichols and Selfridges, who have stopped selling the horrible product under pressure from PETA. Foie gras production is so cruel that it is illegal… Read more.

Victory: Royal Shakespeare Company Goes Foie Gras–Free!

We have some great news to share! After being contacted by PETA and a number of their patrons, the Royal Shakespeare Company and its Rooftop Restaurant have agreed to end their sale of foie gras. They are the latest to join a growing list of British establishments that have dropped foie gras, including Selfridges and the BAFTAs. West End Stars to Fortnum & Mason: ‘Bring the Final Curtain Down’ on Foie Gras

Holding a large banner and signs that resembled a stage curtain and read, “Fortnum & Mason: Bring the Final Curtain Down on Foie Gras”, West End stage stars Jenny Seagrove, Peter Egan, and Carley Stenson joined PETA in a protest outside Fortnum & Mason in Piccadilly today. Their point? That while the production of foie gras – the enlarged livers of force-fed geese and ducks – is so cruel it’s banned in the UK, Fortnum & Mason callously refuses to follow the lead of iconic department stores Harvey Nichols and Selfridges, who… Read more.

PETA’s Own Happy Couple ‘Wed’ at Fortnum & Mason to Help Birds

As the nation geared up for the Royal wedding, PETA joined with our friends from Animal Friends Croatia outside Fortnum & Mason to hold a wedding of a slightly different style. Our happy couple were asking customers to say “I don’t” to cruelly produced foie gras!

Fortnum & Mason continue to sell this vile product, which means horrendous suffering for the birds. They are one of the very few remaining retailers who are willing to profit from this inhumane product, one deemed by the British government too cruel to produce in the… Read more.

Fortnum & Mason Make Former Playboy Model ‘Cross’

Bodypainted to resemble St George’s Cross and holding a sign that read, “Fortnum & Mason: Stop Importing Cruelty. Drop Foie Gras”, five nearly naked PETA supporters – including former Playboy model Victoria Eisermann – unfurled themselves outside Fortnum & Mason in Piccadilly today just in time for St. George’s Day. The lovely ladies’ point? That while Fortnum & Mason attempts to appear patriotic with an “all things English” event, the store refuses to stop selling foie gras – the enlarged livers of force-fed ducks and geese – which is imported from France… Read more.
