What better occasion is there than London Fashion Week to remind the fashion world how utterly unacceptable it is to wear the skin of dead animals?
Outside Somerset House today, three gutsy ladies did exactly that, stripping off to put into practice PETA’s famous slogan “We’d rather go naked than wear fur”!
Hope, Katy and Monica took part in the demo to urge designers, journalists and shoppers to opt for clothing for which animals weren’t bludgeoned, gassed, strangled or electrocuted. After all, fashion should be fun, not fatal.

Just in time for Valentine’s Day, two PETA France activists made a grand gesture in what is commonly thought of as one of the world’s most romantic cities – Paris.
Drawing on the iconic idea of a “bed-in” for compassion, the couple reclined in a bed on a public street, with a message urging Parisians to have a heart and reject fur.
“We’re bringing our big hearts and bare skin to Parisians with the message that animals are not ours to wear”, explained one of the activists. “Valentine’s Day and Paris are … Read more.
“In France, we must reject all suffering. Please, ask Air France to stop transporting primates to laboratories!” That was the in-flight announcement heard loudly and clearly by Air France passengers this morning as they boarded a flight from Paris to Marseille.
Just before takeoff, a PETA France supporter pulled out a poster with an image of a monkey who was tortured inside a laboratory to alert passengers to the fact that Air France is the last major airline in the world that still delivers monkeys to laboratories in the US … Read more.
Blindfolded and cradling a sheared and apparently blood-spattered “lamb”, these three PETA members were a striking sight in Edinburgh this morning.
Their message to shoppers on Princes Street was “Don’t pull the wool over your eyes”, a reference to the immense suffering inflicted on sheep used by the wool industry, including violent abuse in shearing sheds, painful mutilations and frightening deaths in abattoirs.
The trio urged passers-by to open their eyes to the cruelty inherent in wool production and to cross wool items off their shopping lists.

A pile of naked bodies, covered with blood: When the bodies are human and lying in the middle of Trafalgar Square, it seems like a remarkable and shocking spectacle. But when the bodies of literally billions of animals are hacked apart for meat every year, many people turn a blind eye.
For World Vegan Day this year, we addressed this disconnect with a massive, headline-grabbing demo in the centre of London! This morning, around 100 intrepid volunteers showed up, stripped off and agreed to be splattered with fake blood to help get … Read more.
This week, we’ve been experimenting with theatrical “blood”, considering the pros and cons of flesh-coloured underwear and e-mailing hundreds of people with requests that they take off their clothes in public.
Why? We’re planning one of our most daring demos yet – and if you know anything about PETA, that’s really saying something!
On Saturday, 1 November – which, not by coincidence, is World Vegan Day – we’ll be staging a huge “die-in” in the middle of Trafalgar Square in order to draw the world’s attention to the 255 animals who are … Read more.
It can take courage to stand up for your convictions. Fortunately, compassionate PETA supporters have bucket loads of it!
Today, in a room full of suited airline bosses discussing the future of aviation, this activist stood up and made her voice heard – literally – about Air France’s cruelty to primates. Just before a speech by Air France Executive Pieter Elbers in London, she crashed the venue with a banner and a demand for the airline to stop shipping monkeys to their deaths in laboratories.
She was eventually escorted from the room, … Read more.
Unnerving ‘Bunnies’ Turn Heads on the Catwalk at London Fashion Week
A bold new look hit the catwalk at London Fashion Week today, thanks to a trio of volunteers who decided that the fashion world needs a nudge in the right direction – at least, where animals are concerned.
The three compassionate ladies strutted their stuff outside Somerset House on the Strand in London wearing a striking outfit, pairing lovely lingerie with huge Donnie Darko–style rabbit heads. Their statement was simple – no bunny should suffer for fashion.

All over the world, people have been standing up to express their horror at Air France’s shipments of primates to laboratories.
Today, the protest arrived in London.
30 PETA supporters gathered outside the Embassy of France in Knightsbridge, London, to make sure that diplomats and the public know how Air France is profiting from the torture of highly intelligent and sensitive monkeys.
No other major airline still transports monkeys for animal testing. After learning how the terrified animals are caged, cut into, poisoned, crippled, deprived of food and water, infected with … Read more.
Readers were shocked by details that emerged during the trial of a Kent man who allegedly groomed a young girl online, intending to rape, kill, dismember and eat her. The disturbing conversations alleged to have taken place on fetish websites frequented by the man are enough to make even the most hardened reader shudder. “I don’t like waste”, he allegedly assured the 14-year-old. “I’ll eat everything from your feet to your face.”
Wait … haven’t we heard this somewhere before???
