Star speaks up for seals“As an actor who will always consider Britain home, I was proud to learn that the European Union has banned seal-fur imports. In light of next week’s seal-products dispute hearing, I’m writing to urge the panel to uphold this ban, which is in line with the wishes of compassionate people all around the world, including the majority of European citizens.”

Victoria Silvstedt’s Plea for the AstraZeneca Beagles

Swedish siren and former Playboy model Victoria Silvstedt was horrified when she heard that more than 300 dogs may be shipped from her home country to UK laboratories for cruel animal tests.

Upon learning about pharmaceutical giant AstraZeneca’s plans to consign hundreds of beagles from their breeding facility in Örkelljunga to the torture of animal testing, Victoria immediately fired off a letter to the company’s board imploring its members to show the dogs mercy. She wrote:

Pamela Anderson to WTO: Save Seals, Uphold EU Seal-Fur Import Ban

Actor and animal rights campaigner Pamela Anderson just made a heartfelt appeal, urging the World Trade Organization (WTO) to uphold the EU’s ban on seal-fur imports.

As the baby-seal slaughter approaches, Pamela points out that there is no longer any market for seal fur, nor any justification for this cruel industry, in which sealers shoot and bash in the heads of helpless seals when they are just weeks old.
