BMW’s Dog Electric Shock Doesn’t Fool Us

If you’re as gullible as me, you’ll have been horrified to read that BMW are introducing a new Canine Repellent Alloy Protection system, designed to give dogs an electric shock if they relieve themselves on the wheels. The car company’s choice of April Fools prank is not exactly in good taste, but I just thanked the high heavens when my (clearly smarter) colleagues pointed out that it could only be a joke. The dogs of this world will be happy too, considering the electric shock was described as “relatively pain-free” as 200volts shoots through the poor pup’s body. Then again, I should’ve noticed that the man behind the new system is called ‘Dr Hans Zoff’ (hands off, geddit?). There I was, pen poised to send them a wordy letter about how cruel he is.

That’s not the best April Fools this year though, I bet I can dig up a better one…
