Charlotte Crosby and the Giant ‘Condoms’

Outspoken Geordie Shore cast member and Celebrity Big Brother winner Charlotte Crosby starred in an unusual demo today, as she took to the streets of London flanked by two giant “condoms” and an adorable puppy named Jumbo!

Charlotte Crosby and the Giant Condoms

Charlotte-Letitia may have a reputation as a party girl, but today, she showed her responsible side by advocating safe sex – for cats and dogs. “There’s a lot of safe sex goes on in the Geordie Shore house – but unlike people, dogs and cats can’t play it safe without our help”, she explained. “It’s … Read more.

Giant ‘Condom’ Promotes Animal Birth Control in Run-Up to National Condom Day

With a sign that read, “Dogs Can’t Use Condoms: Spay and Neuter”, a PETA member dressed as a giant pink condom descended on Newcastle in advance of National Condom Day (14 February) to point out that Tyne Tees has England’s largest population of stray dogs per person and that the only way to get a handle on the cat and dog overpopulation crisis is always to have companion animals spayed or neutered.

“If cats and dogs could wear condoms, millions of animals would be saved from suffering and death”, says PETA Senior Programme … Read more.

Irish Eyes Are Smiling Over Puppy Mill Ban

If your dogs’ tails are wagging a little more today, maybe they’ve heard the news that Ireland has banned puppy mills!

The new Irish laws took effect on New Year’s Day, outlawing the horrific conditions – including cramped enclosures, filth, malnutrition, exposure, disease, and a lack of socialisation and veterinary care – common to those nasty intensive dog-breeding operations. All puppies must be microchipped so that the breeder can be identified, and authorities can inspect and shut down any facility that fails to meet the … Read more.

Camilla Adopts Adorable Stray Beth

It’s a long way from the streets of Southwest London to the manicured lawns of the Highgrove Estate, but that is where an adorable stray pup called Beth has found herself after the Duchess of Cornwall adopted her from Battersea Dogs & Cats Home.

PETA may not always have seen eye to eye with the Duchess, but credit where credit is due – the adoption has received worldwide media coverage and will hopefully encourage many people to open their homes to a rescued dog or cat.

PETA founder Ingrid E Newkirk … Read more.

‘Boycott Breeders or the Mutt Gets It’

With Crufts starting in just a few short days, we’ve had an illuminated bus shelter ad placed in Birmingham’s city centre, which won’t have dog breeders wagging their tails. The ad shows a small dog cowering under the barrel of a gun and reads, “Boycott Breeders or the Mutt Gets It. Don’t Kill Shelter Dogs’ Chances. Adopt. Never Buy”.

The point of our ad? That when people buy a dog or a cat from a breeder, they rob animals in shelters of the chance at a loving home … and the breeder pockets … Read more.

PETA Calls On Lord Lloyd-Webber to Choose a Rescued ‘Toto’

The finals of the BBC’s Over the Rainbow are airing this weekend. I’ve been watching the show avidly since the beginning, but in all honesty, I don’t really have a strong opinion when it comes to who should win the role of Dorothy – it’s the auditions for the part of Toto that I’ve been following!

As soon as it was announced that Lord Andrew Lloyd-Webber was holding auditions to find a dog to star in a one-off gala performance of The Wizard of Oz, I wrote … Read more.
