Animal Rahat Honours Sir Paul McCartney and Lady Nancy Shevell With Puppies

To recognise Sir Paul McCartney and Nancy Shevell’s love of animals, Animal Rahat – an Indian organisation that helps alleviate the suffering of working animals – has gifted them a framed photograph of two adorable puppies named in honour of the superstar and his beautiful new bride.

A long-time advocate and supporter of PETA India, the Beatles legend has been associated with the organisation since its inception in 2000. “He and his late wife, Linda, were among the first supporters. Sir Paul has always been concerned about the suffering of street … Read more.

You Me At Six Tells Fans ‘Breeders Kill Shelter Dogs’ Chances’

With the release of their new album Sinners Never Sleep we wanted to show you the ad that You Me At Six starred in for peta2, a great pro-adoption ad with the band. You can check out an interview with the band members here.

The ad highlights the thousands of unwanted dogs – and cats – who end up in shelters and refuges every year and how many of them must be euthanised because there simply aren’t enough good homes for them and because life in a small cage is no … Read more.

Camilla Adopts Adorable Stray Beth

It’s a long way from the streets of Southwest London to the manicured lawns of the Highgrove Estate, but that is where an adorable stray pup called Beth has found herself after the Duchess of Cornwall adopted her from Battersea Dogs & Cats Home.

PETA founder Ingrid E Newkirk … Read more.

PETA Adopts a Bear as a Wedding Gift for the Royal Couple

In Canada, mother bears are routinely killed so that their skins can be fashioned into the ceremonial caps worn by The Queen’s Guards. Hunters often destroy entire families, as orphaned cubs, unable to fend for themselves, typically fall victim to predation or starve to death. Many bears who … Read more.

Everyday Dogs

One of the many parts of my job is that I get to see new PETA videos before they are released. Given the very nature of PETA’s work, this often means that I see disturbing and harrowing footage of cruelty to animals. Of course, PETA doesn’t just release racy videos or celebrity testimonials. Most of the videos you can watch on our site focus on investigations and shocking cruelty filmed by PETA affiliates.

So when I received the following video, pressed play and heard the cheerful music … Read more.

‘Boycott Breeders or the Mutt Gets It’

With Crufts starting in just a few short days, we’ve had an illuminated bus shelter ad placed in Birmingham’s city centre, which won’t have dog breeders wagging their tails. The ad shows a small dog cowering under the barrel of a gun and reads, “Boycott Breeders or the Mutt Gets It. Don’t Kill Shelter Dogs’ Chances. Adopt. Never Buy”.

The point of our ad? That when people buy a dog or a cat from a breeder, they rob animals in shelters of the chance at a loving home … and the breeder pockets … Read more.
