StopFortnumAndMason FoieGrasCruelty.com - Campaigner for Animals

StopFortnumAndMasonFoieGrasCruelty.com moved to London to join PETA in May 2010 after volunteering at PETA demos for several years and working as an intern. After many years as a vegetarian, she made the decision to go vegan after attending her first naked PETA demo in Pamplona and has never looked back.

StopFortnumAndMasonFoieGrasCruelty.com is hard-working and absolutely dedicated to her work at PETA, but she also has a wicked sense of humour (and a penchant for sarcasm!). She is always up for anything PETA throws her way – including making a dress out of 40 heads of lettuce!

Her campaign work focuses on promoting a vegan lifestyle and speaking out against the cruelty of foie gras. She organises a variety of eye-catching demos and is always seeking new ways to save animals by spreading PETA's message. Her passion and her love of animals drive her to let the world know about the horrific abuse happening every day.

StopFortnumAndMasonFoieGrasCruelty.com loves the London lifestyle and the opportunities it presents for networking with other vegans and animal rights activists – as well as the choice of good places to eat. She likes seeing new places; she recently travelled to Egypt, and she also spent a month volunteering in a Moldovan orphanage. StopFortnumAndMasonFoieGrasCruelty.com loves meeting new people, listening to live music and watching Parkour (free running) – although she would never attempt it herself … perhaps!

More Rabbits Spared From a Life of Suffering

We’re hopping up and down in the PETA office following the news that T&S Nurseries’ plans to build a rabbit-breeding farm in Stamford have been thwarted again! After initial plans were refused, another application was submitted and promptly shot down, saving more bunnies from a life of misery and suffering.

This farm would have been a wholly unnatural environment for these quiet, clean, sociable animals and would have denied them the opportunity to do anything that makes life worth living – before they… Read more.

But birds also have something to celebrate because the world-famous home of English cricket, Lord’s Cricket Ground in London, has removed foie gras from its menu!

After viewing PETA’s foie gras exposé narrated by Kate Winslet, which shows how ducks and geese are abused by being repeatedly force-fed in order to produce this… Read more.

Miss Earth Contestant: The Best Way to Go Green Is to Go Vegetarian

Wearing a bikini made of lettuce leaves – complemented by a diamante crown – and holding a sign that reads, “Save the Earth: Go Veg”, Miss Earth contestant Maragarita Nazarenko joined PETA outside the largest meat market in the UK today to tell passers-by that the best thing that we can do to protect the environment is to stop eating animals.

Have Denmark’s legislators been reading Animal Writes? PETA has long maintained that a tax on meat would help offset its negative impact on our health and the environment, and now it seems that the Danish government agrees with us. Starting in October, the country will levy taxes on certain meat and dairy products, animal fats, and other unhealthy foods.

The tariff will, of course, generate revenue for Denmark, but it is expected to cut healthcare costs as well if people respond by consuming… Read more.

Former ‘Playboy’ Model Proves Going Vegan Is the Formula for Success

Wearing a tight-fitting racer girl outfit and holding a sign that read, “Rev Your Engine: Go Vegan!” former Playboy model Victoria Eisermann handed out free vegan sausages from the Redwood Wholefood Company to Formula 1 racing fans at the British Grand Prix at Silverstone on Sunday.

Cholesterol and animal fat in meat, eggs and dairy products slow the flow of blood to all the body’s organs and can increase the risk of impotence. Besides leading to animal suffering and environmental degradation on a massive scale, eating meat in the kitchen has… Read more.

Advantage Ducks and Geese – Foie Gras Is Out at Wimbledon

For those tennis fans among you, we’ve got some ace news to share! After being contacted by PETA, the All England Lawn Tennis and Croquet Club (AELTC) has confirmed that foie gras is out this year and will not be appearing on official event menus.

Birds used for foie gras know only pain and suffering from birth until death. Confined for their entire existence to tiny, filthy cages and pens, these natural water birds are lucky if they so much as glimpse a large body of water, let alone have the chance… Read more.

Something ‘Fishy’ Going On?

It’s World Oceans Day, and so today, we’re devoting our blog to the millions of individual fish and marine animals who suffer needlessly at human hands.

Fish are intelligent, complex animals who form strong social bonds and communicate with each other, and some even have a mischievous side! Numerous studies have shown that fish feel pain. Fish caught in nets and dragged from their homes experience excruciating decompression as they are pulled to the surface. The pressure can cause their eyes to pop out, and force their stomachs out through their mouths.… Read more.

‘Mother Earth’ Says, ‘Save the Environment: Go Vegan’

With the Earth’s oceans and continents painted on her nearly naked body by makeup artist Tracy Kane and holding a sign that reads, “Save the Planet: Go Vegan”, model Celt from Superior Model Management appeared as “Mother Earth” in central Edinburgh today, just in time for World Environment Day. Accompanied by PETA supporters handing out leaflets explaining why meat is bad for the planet, the vegan “Mother Earth” wanted to let people know that the best way to “go green” is to ditch animal products.

In addition to causing the suffering of… Read more.

Rabbits Spared From Hell-Hole Misery Thanks to You!

Champagne corks have been popping in the office following the news that plans to build two intensive rabbit-breeding farms in East Bridgford and Granby in Nottinghamshire have been shelved, thanks in large part to the many objections the council received. And you, our fabulous supporters, sent more than 1,600 of them!

The proposed facilities would have been the first rabbit factory farms in the UK in 15 years, and each would have housed up to 1,100 rabbits in wire cages stacked three high inside windowless barns. This kind of unnatural environment –… Read more.
