Intensive Broiler Chicken Farm Scrapped – Thanks to You!

Saved ChickensIn the small, picturesque village of Upton Snodsbury in Worcestershire, an atrocity has just been averted. There were plans to lock up 80,000 animals in windowless, claustrophobic sheds; mutilate them with red-hot blades; dose them with drugs; force them to grow so fast that they would risk organ failure and kill them before they reached adulthood.

All this and worse would have been the miserable fate inflicted on tens of thousands of chickens on a proposed broiler factory farm in Upton Snodsbury. But now, after actions from thousands of compassionate people, that isn’t going to happen. We’ve just received word that the application for the farm has been withdrawn! Hurrah!

When they heard about the proposal, more than 8,000 PETA supporters did what they do best – spoke out on behalf of animals. The council received so many messages objecting to the application that apparently its website even crashed! This was an overwhelming response from people who made it clear that chickens, who are inquisitive and intelligent animals, do not deserve to be kept in the hellish conditions that are prevalent on intensive meat-production facilities. The withdrawal of this application clearly shows that your messages had an impact – and will save tens of thousands of innocent lives. Thank you!

There’s more that you can do for farmed animals right now. In Derbyshire and in Powys, more proposals are being considered that would allow people to profit from cruelty to animals on a mass scale. Please take action here.

    Animais merecem respeito!

Although I’m delighted with the refusal for this hell hole I wonder how long we can hold off planning applications for these disgusting places. As with islam, we must never let these appalling ideas get a foot hold in Britain.

I’m so happy to know that the plans have been scrapped. It would have been such a disgrace to our country if they had gone ahead and been allowed to create such cruelty. It’s also nice to know that there are so many compassionate people who consider the lives of animals as well as their own.

getting eaten by foxes is Nature-the cruelty done by man is simply pure torture and sadism-man has no business mixing his cruelty into the naturalness of Nature. Life is often dangerous, too, but do we stop allowing children to be born for this reason or do we allow new humans to have their chance at life?

4 all those who eat meat, not saying don’t, just let animals B in the fields & not caged, 2 let them live a good life till end of days. Yes animals in the wild eat 4 survival, but the live free, well untill humans kill them 4 nothing like trophy hunting/ehephantd 4 ivory,Tigers 4 medicinal purposes, cats & dogs horrifically trapped & killed in china 4 fur, cows kept permanently pregnant 4 years 4 milk, that’s not the way, tot treat them

LOL, I bet most of you eat barn reared chickens and don’t complain about it then pretty much all our chicken comes from this method. And I don’t know where the OP got the hot blades thing from that’s just utter rubbish
