Tamara Ecclestone’s Wedding Gift: A Rescued Goose Freed From French Foie Gras Farm

Tamara Ecclestone, Formula 1 heiress, TV star and PETA ambassador for our campaign against foie gras, is no stranger to helping ducks and geese. She has spoken out against vile foie gras, a product made by painfully force-feeding birds large amounts of food, and she also starred in a PETA advert against it and even personally convinced Virgin, Mercedes, Red Bull Racing and others to stop serving it at Formula 1 events.

She is sure to receive a wide range of gifts in celebration of her recent marriage to powerbroker Jay Rutland, but we think we may have found the most creative wedding gift: a goose rescued from a French foie gras farm.

In honour of the compassionate beauty, we’ve named the goose Tamara. She now enjoys frolicking in the sun and idling on the pond of a French animal sanctuary.Tamara the Goose

Previously, the goose was held at the farm that supplies Fortnum & Mason with foie gras. It was exposed in a PETA undercover investigation. Despite the fact that foie gras is illegal to produce in the UK, Fortnum & Mason imports it from France, where geese have pipes shoved down their throats several times a day to force painfully large amounts of food into their stomachs, eventually causing their livers to swell to up to 10 times their normal size.

Now the joy of Tamara and Jay’s wedding will be matched by the joy of freedom that Tamara the goose experiences every day.

This practice is totally disgusting, those who do it obviously don’t have a conscience. Poor little darlings.
