Slaughterhouse Secrets

On Tuesday, the police and food standards inspectors raided a UK abattoir and meat processing firm to find out if they had been passing meat from horses off as beef – the latest development in the ongoing British horsemeat scandal, which has affected major retailers from Tesco to Burger King.

While the authorities have yet to reach a verdict about these particular facilities, at every slaughterhouse in Britain atrocities go on every day that would turn most people’s stomachs.

From being strung up by their legs and given repeated electric shocks to  being plunged into scalding-hot water or having their throats cut while still conscious, the cruelty to animals that happens behind closed doors in abattoirs is truly shocking. These practices may be legal, but that doesn’t make them right.

In the words of iconic musician Paul McCartney, “If slaughterhouses had glass walls, everyone would be vegetarian.” So, if the horsemeat scandal has made you feel queasy, please take a moment to watch this powerful video about slaughterhouses, narrated by Paul himself, and learn the unpalatable truth about all meat – whether it was a cow, horse, sheep, chicken or pig who suffered for it.

Slaughterhouses reveal the truth about man’s fall from grace and graphically expose our evil, demonic, malevolent, tortorous and barbaric mistreatment and killing of innocent, helpless, sensitive and traumatized animals.

  2. I couldn’t watch this again. I honestly did not realise such horror could occur. Who are these people who go home at night after partaking in such cruelty , that is beyond words

I have been a vegetarian on and off since I was 11, after seeing the amount of animals slaughtered as a result of foot and mouth. At age 20 after being a vegetarian again for a period of two years or so, I became pregnant and severely anaemic, so I decided to eat meat again. I had my baby in October and was planning to become vegetarian again in the new year. However, I had heard about this video, and being a massive Beatles fan, and at 21 I decided it was time I watched it. From the moment it started I decided instantly I was vegetarian and I have made a promise to myself and these animals that I will NEVER eat meat again, under any circumstances. Also, tomorrow, I am starting my goal in becoming vegan and going shopping for vegan products! The fact that people can turn a blind eye to such cruelty makes me speechless!

I have’nt even watched the film, but I know exactly what barbaric acts it will contain. I am a vegetarian of six years and am so sensitive to the imagery that I have vowed to not watch the videos, but read of them instead as I cannot bare to watch. I make donations wherever I can, I donated for the fur farms in china and will donate for cats sufering in the American university I read about!! Please make donations and help PETA, 80% of donations go directly to the cause (the highest in animal charities!) lets hope we can make a change!! Sophie, good luck, and by going veggie we save at least 100 animal lives a year, I used to eat meat every day so I guess I save at least 365 lives a year!!! Xxx

I can’t watch this. I am vegan and think that we humans are herbivore with our 25 foot long guts that need seeds, veggies and nutrient dense food to feed our enormous brains with creative loving energy made by the earth. Stop this insane inhumane killing of innocents. It is cruel and you are eating the fear the animal is feeling before it is slaughtered. Think about it. Go vegan please.
