‘Twilight’ Star Christian Serratos Urges Fans to ‘Respect Life’ by Going Vegetarian

Twilight star Christian Serratos, known to fans as Bella’s friend Angela, is featured in a new ad for PETA UK inspired by Día de los Muertos (the Day of the Dead). The ad, which was shot by top celebrity photographer Robert Sebree, reminds fans that factory farms are hell for animals and that their death is slow and painful.

Serratos says that the best way to help animals is not to eat them. “When I stopped eating meat, I noticed that it was easier for me to focus, and I was really proud of myself for being green also. … I had a plethora of reasons for going vegetarian. I was eating meat and didn’t know how it affected my health …. I just felt better and brighter and lighter, and I had more energy …. It was a big deal to me, being an animal lover, that I realized what I was eating, and I didn’t separate myself from, say, my animals, my pets.”

In today’s industrialised meat and dairy industries, chickens and turkeys have their throats cut while they’re still conscious, piglets have their tails and testicles cut off without being given any painkillers, fish are suffocated or cut open while they’re still alive on the decks of fishing boats and calves are torn away from their mothers within hours of birth.

Serratos’ previous work with PETA UK includes being the youngest person to appear in the group’s “I’d Rather Go Naked Than Wear Fur” campaign. You can join in her compassion for animals by downloading our vegetarian/vegan starter kit.

She is a bucolic manifestation of God’s glorious creation. There are many longtime rock star vegetarians who love animals.

Jeff Beck=peerless guitarist has been vegetarian since 1969.
Steve Howe= masterful Yes guitarist has been vegetarian since 1972.
Steve Kilbey=Great lead vocalist of The Church has been vegetarian since 1972.

But didn’t God tells us in the bible to kill animals and eat. I know that in the old testament He said some animals are unclean so should not be eaten. But in the new testament He eradicated the law and said we should receive all with thanksgiving.

So why are we promoting vegetarian messages in the name of love for animals. Do we love them more than the God who created them?
