Kevin McHale of ‘Glee’ Roots for the Underdog

Kevin McHale, who plays Artie Abrams on the Channel 4 hit series Glee, understands what it’s like to be the underdog. So it isn’t hard to understand why he’s rooting for all underdogs in his new PETA ad, featuring his adopted pooch, Sophie:

Every year, hundreds of thousands of cats and dogs end up in shelters across the UK, and many are euthanised because there aren’t enough good homes for them. Countless others who never make it to a safe haven get injured or killed by vehicles, fall victim to cruel people or succumb to starvation, disease or weather extremes.

Kevin’s friends and fellow Glee cast members encouraged him to adopt Sophie from a shelter because they know that every animal purchased from a pet shop or a breeder means a death sentence for an animal in a shelter. Join Kevin and Sophie in being part of the campaign to end animal homelessness by making sure that your animal companions are spayed or neutered and only adopting – never buying – animals.

Kevin joins a growing list of compassionate celebrities, including Justin Bieber, Jay Sean, Lauren Goodger and Ke$ha, in speaking up for animals.

    BRIAN MAY
I love commenting on this blog but I’m surprised that you never cover the tireless work for animals and wildlife that Brian May has endeavored. During the past five years Brian May has tirelessy fought against the massacre of badgers, foxes, hedgehogs, stags, hares and other creatures. Brian May loathes slaughterhouses and factory farms. He abhors hunting, trapping, cullling and fishing. He’s vehemently against all forms of scientific and medical reserach that uses and abuses innocent animals. Brian May loves dogs, cats, rats, horses, squirrels, rabbits, all rodents, slugs, amphibians, reptiles, birds, fish and insects. Brian May respects the lives of all our fellow creatures and he is Queen’s dynamic live guitarist. Rock on and God bless you Brian May.

ME TOO LIKE BRIAN HAVE WORKED ALL MY LIFE TO SAVE ALL ANIMALS FROM THE HELL THAT THE SICK COLD HEARTED PSYCHO SUB HUMANS DO TO THEM. IF YOU ARE A “NORMAL” COMPASSIONATE HUMAN BEING YOU HAVE TO SPEAK FOR THE VOICELESS BECAUSE THEY NEED US.LIFE IS VERY UNFAIR AND VERY CRUEL FOR ANIMALS. ALL ANIMALS ALL SPECIES. YOU CAN JUDGE A NATION BY THE WAY THEY TREAT THEIR ANIMALS YOU REALLY CAN !! ALL GOVERNMENTS DON’T DO WHATS BEST FOR ANIMALS BECAUSE SO MANY PEOPLE HAVE NO LIKING FOR THEM AND DISRESPECT THEM THEREFORE VOTE AGAINST HELPING THEM AND DOING WHATS BEST FOR THEM. A LIFE IS A LIFE WHATEVER FORM IT MAY TAKE. WE ARE ALL CONNECTED. NO DIFFERENCE!

  6. I love all animals, but I’m only allowed to have a cat where I live, she is an inside cat, because I have lost too many cats under cars & also one to Cancer, it was very distressing.
My beautiful companion, Sica, was saved from a horrible young woman who let her toddler drag her around the floor by her back leg, I asked her to stop her son from doing this & took Sica out of her place IMMEDIATELY, now she is loved, fed, looked after, healthy & happy. Sica had to fight with 8 other cats to get any food at all, luckily the woman that I saved her from had to get rid of 6 of her 8 cats or she’d be evicted from her house.
I’m so proud of what I did for Sica & she is a wonderful companion for me as I live on my own. She is very loving, as I don’t think that she got much love where she lived before I rescued her.
