Spreading the Word on Fur-Free Friday!

It’s time to get into the fur-free spirit! Fur-Free Friday is 25 November, a day when, all around the world, people who care about animals will be out in force to educate holiday shoppers about the cruelty inherent in the fur trade.

Most fur in European shops nowadays comes from China, where animals raised for their fur endure filthy, cramped cages before they are killed in violent and painful ways. Some animals are still alive as long as 10 minutes after they have been skinned. Our recent video, narrated by Natalie Imbruglia, shows haunting footage of a raccoon dog who lifted his head to look into the camera after he had been skinned alive.

Today’s your opportunity to make a difference by actively combating this vile industry. Try some of the following actions:

  • Share the exposé on your Facebook page and ask your friends to share it too.
  • Have a conversation with even one member of your family or one friend about the fur trade. Urge them to watch the DVD and ask them to sign PETA’s pledge stating that they will never wear real fur.
  • If you know someone who once wore fur but has had a change of heart, please encourage them to donate their furs to PETA for use in our campaigning efforts. Let’s make a difference together, for all animals!

I wore my anti-fur badge to work so hopefully plenty of people spotted it and thought about what it meant.
