Camilla Adopts Adorable Stray Beth

It’s a long way from the streets of Southwest London to the manicured lawns of the Highgrove Estate, but that is where an adorable stray pup called Beth has found herself after the Duchess of Cornwall adopted her from Battersea Dogs & Cats Home.

PETA may not always have seen eye to eye with the Duchess, but credit where credit is due – the adoption has received worldwide media coverage and will hopefully encourage many people to open their homes to a rescued dog or cat.

PETA founder Ingrid E Newkirk has sent a card thanking the Duchess and reading: “Your compassionate decision has done so much to highlight the plight of the thousands of poor dogs in rescue centres around the country who are looking for homes. I’m sure you will inspire many others to follow your excellent example, and I hope you and Beth have many happy years together.”

Along with the note are some squeaky toys, peanut-butter dog biscuits and a PETA bowl for HRH Beth!

Not a big fan of this “Royal” person but she has performed a compassinate and benevolent deed via deciding to be a guardian of a stray pup. Plaudits !!!

    thats nice
Maybe the little doggie will now make her think and she will become a vegetarian.
Since I adopted my 2 cats I have changed a lot, learned so much from them. They inspired me into becoming a VEGAN, and been one now since last year!

Not my favourite member of society, but credit where it’s due, she didn’t HAVE to have a corgi or some other expensive pure bred. It will have good repercussions. Well done.
