More Veggies for Man “Too Fat to Adopt”

They’re the words every man dreads (or some may secretly take delight in) – “you can’t have children.” But for one man in Leeds, who has now had to receive this disturbing news twice, it comes with an extra sting – he is considered “too fat to adopt”. Damien Hall, who has a Body Mass Index (BMI) of 42, is classed as ‘morbidly obese’. This causes concern for social workers, who claim they need to provide adopters that can provide the “best possible lifelong care” for children.

So, to help Damien shed a few pounds and be in good health for his next review, we’re sending him a Vegetarian Starter Kit to get stuck into! It has some healthy and totally tasty recipes, and information on why eating a plant-based diet is best for our bodies (and let’s not forget the animals, eh?). If Damien sticks to the new lifestyle, he could be slimmed down and ready to adopt faster than you can say “daddy”.

I feel sorry for the guy. I saw this in the papers and he didn’t even look fat, just an average big built bloke. But then, I guess if he does take up a veggie diet I’ll feel more for him, as it’ll save animals’ lives, as well giving a child a home.

He shouldn’t be allowed to adopt - too true! We don’t want him to become a feeder of an adopted child, especially on a meat based diet

Being “too fat to adopt” is just unfair. There are so many children needing homes that it’s stupid to stop loving families with such a poor excuse.

Hopefully Damien will adopt a healthy, veggy diet and adopt a child in the future.

This is a tough one for me. I love vegetarian food so much I need to lose weight too. Meatless cuisine is savory, satiating and alluring.
