Watch What You Throw on the BBQ

Yet another research paper has been released pointing to meat as a significant cause of cancer. The American Institute for Cancer Research (AICA) are warning people rubbing their hands with glee at the prospect of the returning Summer BBQ, to watch what they cook and how they cook it. This article is all a bit too technical for the likes of me, but here are the basics:
Diets high in red meat like beef, pork and lamb, and especially processed meats like hot dogs and burgers are “a convincing cause of colorectal cancer”. Colorectal cancer means it starts in the colon or rectum. Not nice.
Grilling veg and fruit poses no potential cancer risks. Diets high in plant foods are associated with reduced risk of several cancers.
So, in short – don’t eat meat, throw a veggie kebab on the barby instead. Mmm…
