Meat the Truth: A New Film

The meat industry largely contributes to global warming and the environmental issues that we face today – fact. A new film called Meat the Truth delves deep into these topics and even stars Pamela Anderson and PETA US’ very own Matt Prescott! Well I say film, but it’s actually more of a documentary, but still sounds pretty good to me.

The world premiere of the English language version of Meat the Truth will be showing on Monday 19th May – that’s this Monday coming – at the Odeon West End Cinema in Leicester Square, London. It’s a bit of an early start at 10am but well worth it if you can get the time off, or convince your boss to organise a ‘team-building trip’. The good news is that it’s freeeee; all you need to do is email caroline@vegsoc.org with your name, number, address and telephone number by Friday 16th May to be placed on the guest list. There are a limited number of seats that are fast being taken, so getting typing…

I was there & it’s a fantastic film, a real eye opener and shows the benefits of changing to a vegetarian/vegan diet, yes for the animals but also to reduce greenhouse gas emissions, as the film demonstrates so clearly - If everyone in the UK abstained from eating meat for one day a week it would result in greater carbon savings than taking 5 million cars off the road, a meat-free UK for 7 days would be the same as eliminating all greenhouse gas emissions from 12.5 million households. This is a message we really need to share! And imagine the carbon savings if the world went vegetarian for even part of the week every week, we are overlooking this issue whilst climate change is ravaging the planet.

Well done to the producer & everyone involved in Meat The Truth, it’s an educational film but also watchable and fun, the message is vital and will make a difference!

I was sorry to have not been able to get up to London to support this film - but I am so looking forward to seeing it and in the mean time I will continue to promote the cause it stands for - it is the only way forward to bring about change and to make this planet a better place for all !

Thank you everyone who was involved in the production of this film and for promoting it around the world - may it plant the necessary seeds !

I noticed that Maria Daines has commented. Her CD “Music United For Animals” is a fantastic and grounbreaking musical marvel. She fuses rock, blues and soul to address abuses such as fur, slaughterhouses, the seal hunt, wild horses, vivisection and the plight of abandoned and neglected dogs and cats.
