Elizabeth Hurley’s Wardrobe: As Dead as Her Career

Liz HurleyI simply couldn’t have written this better. Here’s what The PETA Files had to say when they found about Liz Hurley’s nasty little penchant for fur:

“Elizabeth Hurley is making headlines – and no, not because of her hot acting career (Ha ha ha! Right.). No, Liz’s fame has had a renaissance because she is the only living “celebrity” apparently willing to front Blackglama’s old “What Becomes a Legend Most” ad campaign. (We have another take on Blackglama’s ad, but that’s another story.)

But wait – “Legend”? Who, exactly, is a legend here? Seriously – in the days when people thought fur coats came from animals who died in their sleep on fluffy pillows, Blackglama got major starlets like Catherine Deneuve, Judy Garland, and Elizabeth Taylor to pose for their ads. But that was eons ago, and now Blackglama has to resort to using a 41-year-old actress whose last successful movie was almost 10 years ago. As PETA Europe’s own Robbie LeBlanc said of Liz’s new gig, “Her wardrobe is now as dead as her film career.”

This news, of course, follows stories of stylists having to lie to fur-free actresses about the faux-ness of their fur. Fur is dead, ladies and gentlemen. Anyone who tells you otherwise is getting paid to do it.

I guess those DVDs of Serving Sara just don’t pay the mortgage.”

Love it.

Talk about desperate to stay in the public eye.

Sheesh, you would think that these tacky resorts fur-using fashion designers and stylists use are enough of a ‘warning’ that fur is just not cool… but I guess any attention is good enough for some ‘celebs’. Tragic really.

The never talented Hurley, who`s claim to fame was boyfriend hugh grant and revealing dresses.
We can now confirm her as a desperate, immoral, plastic, gold digger.

im sorry people, i have heard many awful stories about PETA, just like you have written an awful story about (who many people believe to be an excellent role model) Elizabeth Hurly. I completely disagree with the way fur is produced, but i really hope you realise that, being incredibly offensive to a celebrity will not gain you any respect or make people realise that wearing animal fur is wrong,if the only way you can get your point across is by casting insults at a beautiful middle aged model come actor, then you need to rethink your thoughts.

Anna its people like you who just dont get it. Its BECAUSE of “celebritys” that there is such a booming fur trade. PETA rightly highlights how incredibly disgracful it is for anyone to wear fur, but especially these celebritys who, sadly, many people like to copy. If we can discourage them to not wear/support/advertise it, feel ashamed and be on our side then the fur trade will be wiped out a whole lot quicker.

Don’t you come on here and tell me i don’t get it.You have no idea who I am, and can not make that judgement untill you do. if you read my comment properly, i clearly said i do not agree with how fur is produced, i also dont agree with how you people try and get your point across.Elizabteh Hurly is not a prime target to tell people that wearing fur is sin.In my oppinion you should be peaceful in trying to get your point across, not try to make peoples life a misery, oh and also if you feel so strongly about protecting the animals, why do you hurt and destroy peoples lives? Because ive heard that people are 100% humans aswell as any other animal roaming this planet.

Anna, ANYONE who wears fur deserves everything they get, by knowingly wearing the skins of animals - especially someone who blatantly knows who PETA are and how fur is produced - she is supporting a vile trade..

THAT is why she is targeted, THAT is why she deserves everything that was said about her..

And what’s with this “you people” bulls**t!!

yes get a life. “celebs” need to understand that a lot of weak minded people follow what they do.So when a money crazed sycophant like hurley wears fur without the slightest regard of that action she should be deeply ashamed of herself.

I don’t really have much to say,
Though I do believe PETA has proven a point in such an absurd way that people choose not to agree with them. Burning down animal testing sites is promoting violence and destruction, which I thought PETA was against. It also sets a bad example, and discourages people to support PETA, as they don’t come across as a peaceful bunch of people. screaming in people’s ears to get your point across is basically contradicting what you want to achieve .. and that is “peace/non abuse/”, is it not?
You are violent, abusive and destructive, PETA.
if you want to get somewhere, you’re gonna have to ask politely ;)

Just to back up Anna’s point,
people really shouldn’t be pinning the blame entirely on celebrities.
everyone has an opinion, and they choose to wear fur regardless of whether their iconic celebrity does or not.

Thanks for your two cents, Mark! Can I just say, however, that PETA never, ever endorses or condones the burning down of buildings, or any violence for that matter. We are a peaceful organisation that works hard to protect animals suffering around the world, and while we don’t mince words, a little embarrassment for fur-flaunting celebrities, who refuse to take animals’ lives into account, can’t hurt. A snarky comment is nothing compared to what animals on fur farms have to endure, please remember that.

Thanks!
