Black Bear Hunting – Shocking Slaughter in The Sun

Today The Sun reported on the shocking blood-sport of black bear hunting for the ‘super-rich’ in Russia. I just went to the link provided in the double page spread, which shows video footage of a millionaire shooting a beautiful black bear in a snowy woodland – I now feel sick.

It may be for a different ‘purpose’ but this can be easily compared to our campaign against black bear hunting for the Queen’s Guards’ caps, which is equally as sickening and a little closer to home. Killing bears for profit, entertainment or ornamental headgear is plain wrong.

Queen’s Guards’ caps

Did you know that it takes as much as the hide of one whole bear for just one headpiece? Hunters in Canada may shoot the bears several times when they fail to die instantly and some escape wounded only to die slowly from blood loss, gangrene, starvation or dehydration.

You can learn more about this trade here.

PETA wants the Ministry of Defence to switch to luxurious faux alternatives, and I’m sure the Guards do as well – who wants to walk around with an animal carcass on their head all day?

humans just dont’ ever it seems.. leave animals alone..

they’ll always come up with 1001 reasons as to why they want their fur, their skins, their meat, their milk, their eggs, their gall bladders bile, in fact anything and everything.. I could go on and on..

it’s a very sad state of affairs.. but I agree that where abuse comes into the picture ie. needless killing e.g for fashion.. intensive factory farming.. etc. including causing needless suffering, pain and death.. then something has to be done..

come on people.. speak up.. and stand up for the millions of animals suffering and abused worldwide who need our voices and help..

I can’t believe how humans can be so cruel and so unjust. We have no right to kill any animal - we dont need to - even for food - anymore. Until someone can tell me why humans are more important than animals then I will continue to do all I can to fight cruelty to animals wherever I see it.

You humans are an inperfect creation, no offense. You were created as omnivores, your not just gatherers your also hunters. Why do you always try to fight your nature. We Animals of Eden are murdered everyday by so-called ‘Crusaders of Justice’ (really just another type of hunter on more sadistic and full of crap) but we don’t try to change ourselves in order to change what’s happening, we just fight back. I’m glad there are people who defend our kind, but don’t refuse yourself what you need just because it requires bloodshed, we eat meet too.

Although it would be nice if those ‘Hunters’ would stop killing us.
